One of the youngest LGBTQIAAA awareness days, Agender Pride Day exists to celebrate the agender community and individuals. 19 May every year is for the agender community to come together, but it is also raising awareness about the hate, discrimination and inequality faced by agender people around the world. So today, let us talk about what Agender is.
What does Agender mean?
Agender people usually identify themselves as having no gender, though some consider it to be neutral. Agender is one among the many terms under the non-binary spectrum; there also exist terms like genderfree, gender blank, genderless or null gender.

Pronouns?
Some agendered individuals may prefer numerous pronouns (he/she/they), while others may prefer not to use pronouns when referring to themselves.
Difference between Non-Binary and Agender:
Non-binary means a gender that is neither female nor male, while agender means no gender at all. Non-binary is the umbrella term used to describe genders that are not male or female.
The Agender Flag
Agender Pride Day came about in 2017 as a space to raise awareness and talk about gender. The Agender flag was created in 2014 by Salem X and symbolises the absence of gender, semi-genderlessness and non-binary genders.

Do all agender people dress ambiguously?
Agender people are normal people and can wear whatever they like. A person can dress masculine and call themselves a transmasc agender, and they can also present themselves as feminine or androgynous. The choice is theirs to make. How a person dresses does not factor in on their gender.
Why are some people agendered?
There can be lots of reasons why someone identifies as gender. It can come from a place of non-binary identity, from a sense of apathy towards gender, or many other reasons. There is no fixed way to be agender, so there is no fixed reason for being agender. You are who you choose to be.
This Agender Pride Day it is important to remind yourself as well as your loved ones that there is more than one A in LGBTQIAAA and none of those stand for Ally. Respect pronouns or their lack thereof, provide space for all communities to grow and love one another. It is a hard world out there against us, and we need to fight it together.
QEIF wishes a happy Agender Pride Day to everyone; the agender, masc, femme, neurodivergent, androgynous, aromantic, asexual, triple AAA, neo-pronoun and questioning folks. This is your time to shine! And as someone said on Tumblr, “If you do not vibe with your gender, remember, you do not have to pick a new one”
Happy Agender Pride, and happy reading!
